Crested Butte was a lot of fun. We played disc golf, pickleball, did archery, hiked all over — some of it in the dark — made s’mores, cooked for each other, and got to do a bunch of stuff we normally wouldn’t do together. We also got to design our own bats and gloves with @warstic, which was easily one of the coolest parts of the weekend. But I think the biggest thing was just getting to know everyone better outside of the normal baseball environment. We had a lot of fun, but we also had some real conversations. People shared some of the darker things they’ve been through, we learned more about each other, and I think everyone left knowing the guys around them a little better. Baseball is obviously what brought all of us together, but weekends like this are what can actually turn a group of teammates into a team.
