A 55-year-old Holbrook man died following a motorcycle crash in Shirley on Monday, October 12, police said. Robert Haufler was riding south on William Floyd Parkway near Ridgewood Drive around 1:20 p.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a parked Jeep. Haufler was thrown from the motorcycle and transported to NYU Langone Hospital — Suffolk in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead. Police impounded the motorcycle for a safety inspection.
