Knafeh. Or the wondrous Middle Eastern dessert of spun pastry with a sugar syrup and layers of goat cheese, cream and pistachio. Or, one of the best things I’ve eaten for a long time. Passing on the mouthwatering baklava and other treats took more strength than I care to admit… but it made the freshly knafeh was worth it.
