This is Watson Field @olivetnazarene … I played here my freshman, sophomore and junior years, and I only got here because of one man. Coming out of high school I had no offers. Not one. Coach Elliot Johnson was the only coach who called. This is where I learned how to practice when nobody else was practicing. We worked hard on this field, and then everybody would head into the school and I would stay out. I would go back into the turf room and get extra reps in. Practicing in the shadows took root right here. Coach Johnson had faith in me before I had it in myself. So if you are a coach or a teacher, and you have the chance to give a young person the opportunity to prepare for the pressure at the next level, do it. Find that kid nobody else is calling. Give them the chance. That is what Coach Johnson gave me on this field. #PrepareForThePressure #BenZobrist #olivetnazareneuniversity
