"We recently marked my son Stanley’s ninth birthday! My local event team wished him a happy birthday at the start line, which meant a lot given how far he has come after living with a brain tumour. "Stanley was diagnosed with a brain tumour at eight months old. He has undergone many rounds of chemotherapy and brain surgeries. Although the tumour has caused right-sided weakness and physical challenges, his condition has been stable over the past few years. "He has grown so much stronger, fallen in love with running, and recently joined parkrun. We have been fundraising for brain tumour research and child cancer charities, and the running community has provided massive support throughout our journey. "On his birthday, Stanley asked to complete parkrun with me. A lot of people turned up to cheer him on.
