In every major sport, there are rules literally named after real people. Not because they were the best, but because what they did was so extreme, the league had to step in and make sure nobody could ever do it again. An owner who traded away so many picks the NBA had to approve his deals. A player who won MVP on a rookie contract and forced a new max tier. A lawsuit that went to the Supreme Court and created free agency. A contract so blatantly designed to cheat the salary cap the league voided it on the spot. The Stepien Rule. Bird Rights. The Rose Rule. The Kovalchuk Rule. The Rooney Rule. The Deion Sanders Rule. These aren't just rules — they're stories about the people who broke the system. #nba #nfl #mlb #nhl #sports #birdrights #roserule #stepienrule #rooneyrule #sportsrules Subscribe to Enjoy The Game for more deep-dives.
