The full moon was hidden behind heavy clouds last Friday evening, but our first Moon Festival (aka Mid-Autumn Festival) was great fun as we brought this ancient Chinese tradition to the Marble House lawn and Chinese Tea House. Decorating paper lanterns was popular with the kids, while the tea ceremony inside the Tea House brought a quiet elegance to the event. For a rousing finale, the Rhode Island Kung Fu Club performed the Lion Dance, with dancers inside a colorful lion costume moving to the beat of a percussion ensemble. Three brave children even fed the lion as part of the festivities, bringing good fortune to all! Thanks to everyone who attended! #moonfestival #midautumnfestival #familyfun
