If you are visiting the Newport Mansions, here are several changes in our operating schedule. • Kingscote will be open for tours every day through October 28. Kingscote is one of the oldest summer cottages still standing in Newport, originally designed in 1839 and expanded by McKim, Mead and White in the early 1880s. Its collections include Newport-made Townsend and Goddard furniture and numerous Chinese antiques. • Green Animals will remain open daily this weekend October 8, 9, and 10. Green Animals will close for the season after Monday, Oct. 10th. • Marble House and The Elms are closed through October 28 for filming of HBO’s “The Gilded Age.” They will reopen on October 29. • Chateau-sur-Mer will remain closed as it also plays a role in HBO’s filming. • Rosecliff is open daily through October 30. • The Breakers is open.
