As we anticipate the January 24 premiere of HBO’s new historical drama “The Gilded Age” – which includes scenes filmed in several of our houses in 2021 – we hope you heard yesterday’s entertaining conversation between Trudy Coxe and Pieter Roos on WADK 1540 AM. The Executive Director of the Mark Twain House, Roos discussed the famous author and humorist who coined the term “Gilded Age.” Roos will join other historians and scholars January 27 at 6 p.m. for our first virtual lecture of 2022, entitled “Naming an Era: The Gilded Age as Novel and Nom de Guerre.” You can register for the lecture and listen to the interview by following the link in our bio. #NewportMansions #thegildedage #gildedage #gilded #gildedagehbo #marktwainhouse
