Today is #NationalSquirrelAppreciationDay! While we might only have squirrels running around outside, inside The Breakers is decorated like a squirrel's dream! Acorns (and oak leaves) are the Vanderbilt family symbol, and throughout the house, Richard Morris Hunt made sure to include them where he could. Look for them on the ceilings, floors, and walls (among other places)! #NewportMansions #DiscoverNewport #TheClassicCoast #VisitNewEngland #TheBreakers
