Today is #MonkeyDay! Did you know that on August 30th, 1901, the Berwinds threw the largest party of the season to celebrate the opening of their new summer residence, The Elms? Over 400 guests attended including a troop of trained monkeys that swung from the various trees on the back lawn. While we don't have any monkeys on site, there still is a lot to see over at The Elms! Especially now with it being decorated for Holidays at The Newport Mansions. The Elms is open daily from 9:00am - 4:00pm. #NewportMansions #NewportRhodeIsland #DiscoverNewport #TheClassicCoast #VisitNewEngland #RhodeIsland #TheBreakers #TheElms #History #ThingsToDoinNewport #Christmas #MerryChristmas #Holidays #HappyHolidays
