If you share our fascination with historic art objects and the research that goes into telling their stories, you’ll want to attend this lecture. On Wednesday, August 5, at 6:30 p.m., our collaboration with Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens in Washington, D.C., continues with New Discoveries about Hillwood’s Collection by Rebecca Tilles, Associate Curator of 18th-Century French & Western European Fine & Decorative Arts at Hillwood. In the past two years, Dr. Tilles has studied the collection and made discoveries about several important objects. She will focus on three items – including the paintings shown here – and discuss the examination methods and research that help her uncover long-lost information.
