Our next virtual lecture, entitled "The News of Newport: Mrs. Schuyler Van Rensselaer Is Expected for the Season," will be hosted by Judith Major this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom conference call. A landscape historian with a concentration on 19th-century American landscape architecture, Judith Major will discuss this pioneering Gilded Age critic with ties to Newport, drawing from her her deeply researched book, "Mariana Griswold Van Rensselaer: The Evolution of a Landscape Critic in the Gilded Age." The book is available for purchase at our Bannister's Wharf store, and you can also purchase it online at newportstyle.net. To attend this lecture, email your full name to ProgramRSVP@Newportmansions.org by June 17. Please put "Judith Major Lecture" in the subject line. #BreakersOpen #ElmsOpen #NewportMansionsOpen #alonetogether
