Here’s an extremely rare sight: Alice Vanderbilt’s bedroom in The Breakers, virtually devoid of furniture. The room was emptied so our Properties Department could repair cracks and peels in the ceiling plaster. It’s one of many projects getting done while our houses await reopening. The work of preservation goes on so check back for more updates. #togetheralone
