Registration from 9am, walk starts at 10am. @Sheffield Hospitals Charity are raising funds that will help improve hospital spaces and activities, provide specialist dementia training for NHS staff, volunteers and family carers, and help people with dementia to live independently. The colour red can increase brain wave activity in people with dementia. It easily catches their attention. It’s a colour that can be seen clearly, even through to the late stages of dementia. People taking part in the walk will receive their own free Red Shoe Walk t-shirt which also entitles them to exclusive discounts across Meadowhall on the day and free entry to the Summer Beach Club. Participants can wear their own pair red shoes for the walk, and free red shoe covers will also be provided at registration. Places cost just £5 per adult, £3 per child or £14 for a family of four.
