Nikola Jokic makes everyone else look like they are playing a different sport. Centers are not supposed to lead the league in playmaking. They’re definitely not supposed to lead a decade in steals. He’s done both while also stacking scoring and rebounding totals that would be career-defining for most stars on their own. Three MVPs, a title, a Finals MVP, two seasons averaging a triple-double, and he still looks like he has another gear left.
Jokic is currently sitting at 198 triple-doubles, which means he’s just 12 away from passing the greatest triple-double machine the league has ever seen in Russell Westbrook. At this point it doesn’t feel like a question of if, just when, because this is what he does every year. They call him Superman for a reason. The numbers keep proving it, and the gap between him and everybody else keeps getting harder to explain.
