Throwback to celebrating #PrideMonth on campus during the 90s 🌈✨ The ucsd_lgbtrc has come a long way since its inception in 1999. Thanks to the dedication of staff, faculty, and student activists, the Center was established after years of hard work and advocacy. It all began with a formal proposal submitted to Chancellor Dynes in 1998, followed by dialogues highlighting the need for safe spaces and institutional resources. Finally, on November 8, 1999, Chancellor Robert C. Dynes officially dedicated the LGBT Resource Center to the #UCSD campus community 🧜‍♂️🏳️‍🌈 Starting with just two small rooms and 300 square feet, the Center has grown to a remarkable 2,300 square feet in the Original Student Center, making it one of the largest LGBT Resource Centers on any college campus in the nation.
