British sprinter Amy Hunt has voiced concerns following the way women in sport were portrayed in a recent campaign Sydney Sweeney featured in. In an industry where women are still overlooked, underrepresented and too often sexualised, it’s more important than ever to show just how powerful women in sport are, and to make it clear that there is a place for us. And that women should be taken seriously. Women in sport have had to fight time and time again to be recognised for their talent, skill and hard work. Reducing that to “just sport”, as Novig and Sydney Sweeney did, risks undermining decades of progress and the countless women who have fought to create space for those who came after them.
