When Martin Ødegaard was playing for Stromsgodset aged 15 he recieved enquiries from more than 30 European clubs and visited the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Real Madrid. He was extremely close to choosing to join Arsenal after having dinner with Arsène Wenger and remembers being nervous if the manager would judge him for eating the fries that came with his steak. After eventually choosing to sign for Real, Ødegaard featured in the 2015 of FIFA and young Martin used to pretend to be Arsène Wenger on Career Mode and buy himself to play for Arsenal.
