In 2021, Everton made their first approach for Ainsley Maitland-Niles, then an Arsenal player. He told his boyhood club what he wanted but they rejected the offer, barely played him, sent him on loan, and then released him on a free. Maitland-Niles eventually made it to where he was wanted and when he did, boy did he make it count. A perfect moment five years in the making. #everton #maitlandniles
