This is what’s left of Arkenauo Haddy’s home after Typhoon Mawar ravaged the U.S. territory of Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. 💔 Arkenauo sent his family to a hotel before the storm hit so he could stay behind to look after their home and belongings. He shared with Red Cross volunteer Kim Mailes how parts of the roof ripped off during the storm, causing heavy rain to enter the home and leave significant water damage. Now, Arkenauo and his neighbors are picking up the pieces of their lives with Red Cross disaster workers supporting them throughout the recovery process. Our disaster teams are ensuring people’s basic needs are being met across the islands by providing meals in shelters and distributing emergency supplies like clean-up kits, coolers, flashlights and hygiene products.
