The NCAA announced yesterday a few rule changes that will take effect with the 2023-24 basketball season. Included in the rules is that players are now allowed to wear any number between 0 and 99. The long-standing rule previously outlawed any digit between 6 and 9 due to officials having to display the player number on two hands when announcing fouls. Other basketball leagues, most notably the NBA, have allowed all numbers for many years now.
