A story that is the true essence of the Cape League. Last season a young fan named Thomas met Braves pitcher Matt Duffy who made such an impression on the 9 year old not only for his play on the field but also went out of his way to get a ball signed by all the pitchers in the bullpen. This past winter Thomas followed Matt’s success at @canisius_college. And took his signed ball into school for show and tell. Last night Thomas and his parents made the trip to Falmouth to see Matt make his return to the Braves. After the game Matt instantly recognized Thomas, once again talked baseball and made a young fan’s summer! This story was sent to not only the Braves but the Cape League this morning from Thomas’ parents. They felt Matt was such a great representation of the Cape League, Bourne Braves and Division I athletes. Stories like this happen all over the Cape on a nightly basis.
