So, what did you do on Saturday? We're guessing it wasn't anything as challenging as what Detective Leading Senior Constable Leigh Miller did. On 11 March, Leigh jumped on his bike and rode the same bit of road until he passed 8,848 metres - the height of Mount Everest. Setting off at 3am, it took Leigh 82 laps of a 1.5km section of Emerald-Kallista Road in The Patch to achieve a vertical gain of 9,036 metres. Leigh rode with his friend Stephan and was supported by family, friends and colleagues. When Leigh's effort is verified, it will be added to the Everesting Hall of Fame. (Yes, this really is a thing.) 300km and almost 14 hours later, Leigh said he might lie down for a bit. Join us in congratulating Leigh on his huge effort and for raising nearly $10,000 for policeveteransvic. 🚴 #VictoriaPolice #Everesting
