Put your hooves together for Xacara, Willow and Unity who recently retired from the Victoria Police after a stable 50 years of combined service 👏 This marks the end of an era for our Mounted Branch, with these ladies being the last mares bred specifically for the role, left in the service. All three started training when they were just 4 years old - well and truly earning a break at 19, 20 and 22 respectively. Willow was honoured to escort Queen Elizabeth II during her 2011 visit and, not content with her brush with fame, this week auditioned as a reservist reindeer as she entered her retirement. The three are now onto greener pastures and will be in the very capable hands of a few generous Mounted Branch members. Thank you Xacara, Willow and Unity💙 #MountedBranch #VicPol #HorsingAround
