Great news for your Tuesday arvo!
Last month a 82-year-old Phillip Island resident went for a walk from Ventnor Beach.
The resident became disorientated, lost and phoned police for help. A large scale search commenced, including local police, as well as officers from water police, police airwing and the local community.
Just after 11pm the resident was located safe and well and we flew them back to Ventnor in our helicopter. Thanks to our wonderful community who assisted in the search, and for our resident who phoned us for help!
We are very happy about the successful search mission, but please let this be a timely reminder to be prepared before you hike and ensure you have a way of contacting police in case you get stuck or need extra help. Always leave a trip intention form with someone who can raise the alarm if you do not make it back in time.
