Meet Arcto the Australian fur seal. Arcto has recently chosen Chelsea foreshore to sun himself rather than Seal Rock with the rest of his seal mates. Arcto is not sick or in distress, he's just... different. Police are asking the public to keep their distance. Here are some useful seal-facts to keep in mind while you admire Arcto from a safe distance: ☀️Seals can become aggressive when they feel threatened so please keep your distance. ⛱Seals can move quickly over short distances – as fast as people can run on sand! 🍕Please don’t feed or attempt to feed him – seals need to know how to fend for themselves and not depend on humans for food. ✋🏽It is an offence for people to go within 30 meters of a seal on land. 🐶It is also an offence to let a dog under your control go within 50 meters of a seal on land.
