The AP declared Michigan state Rep. Donavan McKinney, a Democratic Socialists of America candidate, the winner in a primary race for a U.S. House seat in a district anchored by Detroit. McKinney is expected to easily win the general election, and the victory, in what was a proxy fight between the party’s progressive and establishment wings, will help the DSA grow its ranks in Congress.
