February is both Black History Month and Frederick Douglass's birth month. We wanted to share a little bit more about the abolitionists history and how his experience abroad was a transformative time in his life, like it is for many of our students. In honor of the transformative impact of Frederick Douglass's time abroad, CIEE created the Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship. Consistent with Douglass' legacy, the 10 Fellows selected each year are meritorious individuals who demonstrate high academic achievement, possess exemplary communication skills, display the hallmarks of self determination, exhibit characteristics of bold leadership, and have a history of service to others. #FrederickDouglass #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackLivesMatter #BlackExcellence #CIEE #CIEEStudyAbroad #CIEEFrederickDouglassGlobalFellowship
