Head pull is an Arctic sport meant to test a competitor’s strength and endurance. After a leather belt is wrapped around both competitors’ heads, they pull back, similar to a tug-of-war. Like other Northern Games, they were played by everyone, even in confined spaces! And like those games, head pull helped build the strength needed to travel long distances in the fall and winter. #CBCSports #CBCIndigenous #AWG2026 #Whitehorse2026 #ArcticWinterGames
