Stick Pull is one of the Dene games, where a wooden stick is greased up in Crisco and your competitor tests their skills and grip strength. But where did this game come from? Many First Nations and Inuit traditional sports have a purpose to teach youth life saving skills. Stick pull is all about catching slippery fish, and in this competition the stick is the fish. #CBCSports #CBCIndigenous #AWG2026 #Whitehorse2026 #ArcticWinterGames
