🤔 Here’s why intuitive eating doesn’t work: Your baseline is all messed up.
🥗 If you’ve never known what it feels like to eat a well-balanced, nourishing diet… how can you possibly intuitively eat to feel that way?
I actually am a big advocate of intuitive eating for weight maintenance!
🎓 In fact its something we teach all of our Body Smart Grads...
But I also believe you can’t do it without a solid foundation of nutritional knowledge and self-awareness. That means:
🥗 Eating 80% whole foods
Ultra-processed foods stimulate your grehlin & leptin (hunger & fullness hormones) differently so you don’t have the same “off switch” you do with whole foods. Not to mention whole foods are packed full of the nutrients your body actually needs.
🥩 Getting 25-30g protein per meal
If you’re on a weight loss journey and want to maintain lean body mass, this is key. It will also help you experience lasting fullness after each meal.
🌾 Prioritising 25-30g fibre per day
Fibre actually trigg...
