❌ You should never exercise to earn or burn your food.
🏃 “Technically” you can burn an equivalent number of calories to a snack or meal, by hitting the gym.
🤔 But you also burned calories walking around your house, digesting your food and even during your sleep.
🔥 In fact exercise only contributes around 5-10% of your average calorie burn.
Relying on exercise to “balance out” your food choices is a flawed strategy that will only damage your relationship with food and exercise.
Instead, look at the bigger picture…rather than trying to burn off a certain food in a certain workout. A healthier approach would include:
👣 Moving more throughout the day
🍗 Choosing higher protein foods
💪 Building more lean muscle
🌯 Eating foods that fit within your calorie goals
Have you ever tried to burn off a cheat meal or treat? If so I hope this helps put things into perspective!
