“I believe trans and non-binary people being seen and recognized within communities that promote health and fitness fosters connection and understanding. Real-life interactions can help people of all genders find common ground.” – Kester Antiquina (they/them), member of FrontRunnersNY since 2022.
Meet Kester!👋 Kester identifies as non-binary and is a registered nurse who works in an ambulatory surgery unit. They started running in 2021, and recently finished the 2023 #RBCBrooklynHalf in 1:25.
We spoke to Kester about the importance of visibility for gender non-conforming runners, the Front Runners New York LGBT Pride Run, what running adds to their life, and how running organizations can help support the participation and experience of trans and non-binary runners.
Learn more about Kester and their running experiences on our blog at the link in bio and come out and support all the runners at the #FRNYPrideRun!🏳️🌈🥳🏳️⚧️
