Senior Spotlight🎓: Tom Farrenkopf Tom is a non-traditional Diversity Excellence scholar majoring in cinema studies with a minor in sociology.  At UO, Tom was a part of the McNair Scholars program, an undergraduate program that prepares students for graduate and doctoral studies. Through the program, Tom was able to work on a research project of their choosing and attributes much of their success to their involvement with the program. In addition, Tom worked as a student manager at the cinema studies production equipment lab assisting students with class projects and gaining valuable technical experience. "Coming to UO as a transfer student it took me a while before I started to feel like a Duck," Tom said. "The first time I recall feeling a part of our community was during the 2022 UO McNair Scholars Conference when our cohort had the opportunity to spend time getting to know one another. And even though I am becoming a Trojan, I will always be a DUCK!"
