A little #mondaymemory for you, complete with story time… This was the 4th of 5 dives in the semi-finals of the 2008 Olympic Trials. The year before this at the World Championships, as the reigning World Champion, I got 1’s on this dive. I wasn’t committing to a certain technique and because of that this dive had become my nemesis. And I was absolutely humiliated. But born out of that moment came a commitment not just to do the right technique but to actually make it my favorite and most consistent dive. It didn’t happen overnight. It was scary. And it certainly wasn’t easy. But I was relentless on this commitment. And I didn’t miss it again in that run up to 2008.
