We stand on the platform all by ourselves, but we certainly can’t get their on our own. jappleman1983 came to our program a year before what we thought would be the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. When he first started coaching me, I was scared and tentative because I was still recovering from #acdf surgery. He was patient and helped me navigate unknown territory as I worked my way back up to 10 meter. I was finally able to do my dives, and we were starting to compete again when the entire world shut down and the Olympic Games were postponed for the first time in history. I’m thankful we’ve had this extra year to challenge each other, get to know each other and bond through the hard times together. With just under 3 months back on 10 meter, we came to Olympic Trials.
