These pictures may not look like much to you, but they’re pretty special to me. It’s a final pep-talk before Trials from my coach of 28 years, Kenny Armstrong. This is my fourth Olympic Trials and the first one he won’t be attending. But his voice is always in my head, so it’ll still kinda be like he’s there 😂😍. We’ve been to battle so many times over the years together. We’ve trudged through the valleys, and we’ve stood atop the mountains. He was the first one to believe in my crazy-big dreams as a teenager. He was there through every failure, every injury, and every set back. He never gave up on me, and he never let me give up on myself. When I asked him if I would be crazy to dive platform again after nearly a decade off and with several kids in tow, he immediately said “No.” He’s been a coach, mentor, guide, father figure and dear friend.
