The 2005 World Championships were a turning point for me.
.
.
Diving through excruciating pain for six months after a botched wrist surgery, I took the lead after the preliminaries (which I had never done before) in what I thought was possibly my last competition.
.
.
I held the lead through semifinals. After a terrible second round dive in finals, I came back with three strong dives putting me back on top of the podium.
.
.
But instead of retiring, I began to learn new and harder dives, trying to find out just what I was fully capable of.

Happy
#finaaquaticsday ! Thank you to all the officials and volunteers who make the competitions possible. Thank you to the coaches who continue to grow and train amazing athletes. And thank you to all the divers who are far more than competitors as many have become my lifelong friends ❤️
