It’s so cool and strange being on this side of the sport. Yesterday I cheered on my daughter at her very first diving meet! . When I asked her which dive she was most proud of, her response made this mama’s heart want to burst! . Without hesitation she said it was her “front fall in” because she worked really hard on it this week. . We’ve had several talks going into this meet as she kept asking me if I won my first meet or my second. She was getting very focused on how she was going to finish. I told her that at my first meet I got 10th place... out of 11. I don’t think my second meet was much better. I told her that I kept working hard to get better and better, then one day I started winning. Even after I started winning sometimes I wouldn’t do well at a meet, but that wasn’t a reflection of how good I was. It’s simply part of the process. . So I gave her just 2 goals for this meet: 1.
