We had our first household casualty to #Harvey this afternoon. . Apparently you can only keep a 3 year old boy busy indoors for so many consecutive days before something is bound to break. . Sweet little boy was being silly, but just went to turn on a light and knocked over an entire case of awards. The sound of the shatter was bone chilling in the midst of the chaos and anxiety everyone is feeling about the floods and storm. . Even though one of the heavier awards fell on his foot, he was more upset that he broke my award. . I kept telling him that it was alright, I just wanted to know if he was hurt. And he kept crying, “But it was special!” . It was a sweet opportunity to hammer home to him that he is far more important to me than any award I could ever receive. After quite a bit of consoling, he said he understood. . The funny part is, I don’t think I’ve ever even talked to the kids about those awards. They have just always sat on these shelves in the corners of the study gathering...
