Here's a fun little #flashbackfriday for you. This was my first international competition, the 1995 World Cup that was held as a test event in the Atlanta Olympic pool. Patty Armstrong and I had the honor of diving platform synchro together here, the first time it was ever in a world competition. And we walked away bronze medalists! This was the first year I competed 10 meter, and being able to dive with Patty in the beginning, no doubt, helped form me into the person I am. Among all the many lessons she taught me, one of my favorites was that you can have fun and work hard at the same time. It seems so simple, but I honestly don't know many athletes at the top of their game that truly love the sport and still enjoy it.
