When an eighth grader began choking, Assistant Principal Nick Moyer didn’t panic.
Nick knows a thing or two about emergencies. Along with his role at the middle school, he’s a 17-year volunteer firefighter. When a classmate alerted him that Aubreanna was in trouble, Nick knew exactly what to do.
Unable to breathe or speak, Aubreanna needed immediate help. Nick performed abdominal thrusts until the object was dislodged and she could breathe again.
For his quick thinking and heroic actions, RedCross_Michigan honored Nick with a Lifesaving Award. We're so proud of Nick and hope his courage inspires others to learn first aid!
