For years, Marina Nichols, a senior at the University of South Carolina, avoided donating blood. “I was always too nervous to donate,” she said. “I was afraid I was going to pass out.” That changed when she learned about the Red Cross X PEANUTS® partnership on Instagram. Her late grandmother loved Snoopy and Woodstock, and that connection gave Marina the push she needed. “I thought, ‘Well, that's a call out from beyond if I've ever heard one, so I need to go today, because if I don't, I know I'm going to chicken out and talk myself out of it.’ I found a blood drive in Columbia that day and I just went.
