Thanks to these two young lifeguards, a familiar face at the community pool is alive today. While on duty at the YMCA, Ender and Dinko noticed someone struggling in the water. One of their regular swimmers, Chris, was in cardiac arrest. They acted fast by pulling him out of the water, calling 911, grabbing an AED, and starting CPR. Because of their quick-thinking and training, Chris survived, and was even alert when emergency responders arrived. To honor Ender and Dinko, the RedCrossNorthwest region presented them with the Red Cross Lifesaving Award for Professional Responders.
