This got us right in the feels. 🥺 Senior Airman Aaron Bach surprised his family in front of 45,000 football fans at Amon G. Carter Stadium. They've been apart for two years and Aaron's mom is battling stage 4 breast cancer.
"I owe everything to my mother," Aaron said. “It’s really painful to know what she’s going through, what they’re all going through back at home.”
Aaron's mom, Thu Thi Ho, immigrated to the U.S. from Vietnam as a single mother. She worked two to three minimum-wage jobs without knowing English to provide for her family. She was able to put both her sons through college.
“Seeing firsthand how she struggled for us made me appreciate all the opportunities we have in the states," Aaron said.
Aaron wanted to give back to the country that had given him so many opportunities. He became a Sr. Enlisted Airman and a medical material technician, serving just under two years in Kadena, Japan.
