Do you know what period poverty is? In countries like Hungary, period poverty occurs when women and girls can't afford menstrual products or access to safe water and sanitation to manage their menstrual health. Millions of women and girls are impacted by this issue that interrupts their lives, and for young girls, that often means missing school. To combat this issue in Hungary, Voroskereszt_HunRedCross launched a program to support schoolgirls. So far, 20,000 each year have received access to boxes with period products and educational information.
