Terry Stigdon is one of the many Red Crossers on the ground in North Carolina after Hurricane Helene devastated the area. At home, she serves as the regional CEO of the @IndianaRedCross, but right now, she is deployed as a Red Cross nurse.
In her role, she cares for people in shelters by tending to minor injuries and helping replace lost or damaged medication and medical equipment like eyeglasses and wheelchairs.
Disaster teams across the state are working nonstop with partners to support the unique needs of each community depending on the damage.
In addition to helping people in shelters and distributing meals in affected areas, we're also delivering things like shower trailers, cooking stoves and spark plugs to keep generators running for cleanup efforts in some areas.
