Virginia Tuttle has made water safety her lifelong mission. After becoming a Junior Lifeguard at 12 years old, she was motivated to explore a career in aquatics. She went on to teach swimming as a teen camp counselor and eventually became the Babysitting, Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor she is today. For the last 50 years, she has found joy watching her students grow and gain confidence. What makes her most proud is seeing someone who was too afraid to go underwater swim across the pool just weeks later. “Everybody can make progress and feel good about themselves," Virginia said.
