This family heirloom survived a devastating home fire. It was kept safe in a fireproof box with important documents spanning three generations. The family of six who experienced the fire was able to safely escape thanks to the nonstop barking of their dog. Although the local fire department arrived quickly to extinguish the flames, the home was overtaken by the fire, and sadly, burned to the ground. Local volunteers with the RedCrossCCR were on the scene to comfort the family and walk them through their recovery assistance. Firefighters carefully sifted through the ash to locate the fireproof box. It was a moment of unexpected joy for the family to be reunited with their grandmother’s ring. 💜 #HomeFire #FamilyHeirloom #Heirloom #RedCross #DisasterResponse #California
